Awwwwww I thought you must have had time to execute Plan A - Darn I wanted to see that. There's still time though
Your shot is missing here too.
Plan C.
Another one I've wanted to do for while. I will revisit at different times of year and at different times of day. But not when it's too wet, as I had to walk across that stream to get to where I stood/sat.
Anyway, since today was the day I got to this location, thought I'd put this one in as well.

This bridge over Bahia Honda in the Florida Keys was originally built for the Florida East Coast Railroad about 100 years ago. In the 1930s, a concrete highway slab was built OVER the top of the steel trusses of the railroad bridge. You can see how the piers were constructed in the ocean by pouring concrete into a cofferdam to form the lowest section of the piers (to just above the water line). The next section was poured into wooden forms - you can still see some of the marks made by the boards on the forms. Finally, the steel structure was built on top with the rails.
A new highway bridge has been built and the ends of the old bridge were removed. As you can see the concrete road and guardrails are crumbling.

As for the next theme, how about "On the Water?"

I thought the tree spanning across the gap looked neat, but when I came back a few days later, it was after the first of a series of snowstorms, and there hasn't been a break since.
Master
The lieges are battering at the gates waiting to pour their votes upon you via a PM. Can we have your blessing to initiate such action?

Let me be the first to congratulate the winners
Well done one and all,

Goodness gracious me!
Thank you to those who thought my image worthy of your interest. Interestingly, I preferred my other one (Post #7 in this thread). I'd love to know what it was that people felt 'Glenfarg Viaduct' had that made them want to vote for it.
I thought it suffered from having a lack of detail in the shadows, particularly in the river bank, and that the was sky blown. But I think I managed to show the stone work in the bridge quite well. I was pleased with that large rock right in front, and how the water looked. Has taken quite a few at varying shutter speeds and this is the one that I felt worked best.
Congrats to the winners.
Well I clicked on the link to the picture and got the following message

I got the same as Sahil when I pressed on the links you've put in to Post #32
Me too!
Can't see the winners

Me to ....
Hey winners ... hearty congrats and its also nice to know that I voted in the right direction so I am learning a bit about picking winners at least!
From a personal standpoint I would love some c&c (if anyone has got the time) on my 'cards' and the 'rifle'. I spent quite some thinking and working time on both of these to try to create 'a difference', hoping that this was a good move. Obviously it was not a 'good move' to think outside of the box. Or maybe it was just my photography? Don't spare the punches ... I need the inputs 'cause I enjoy the challenge
Again to our winners ... well deserved.
Yes it was a good move.
The cards image was well executed and the same thought had crossed my mind. In terms of the story that the image was trying to tell, I wonder if it would have worked better if the cards at the top of the frame hadn't been there. And, if that written document is an instruction, does it have the word 'Bridge' in a large font anywhere? If so, and if it had been included, then it would have been stronger , I think.
The rifle - Loved it.
As in my post above, would also very much like to hear from people who did like my winning image, what that they thought worked (so that I can keep doing it). Especially as I preferred my first one.
Donald
Thanks Donald ... your comments about my 'cards' are spot on I think. Most would maybe wonder what the heck I was trying to acheive against the subject target 'Bridge that Gap', especially those that did not associate the card game name of 'Bridge'. When we (I) come up with a subject matter then I understand it 'cause its been in MY mind; ho hum ... must remember that its not in another so I have to create it and not just assume.
With respect to your Glenfarg Viaduct, I loved it because it was a good subject, the water 'flowed smoothly to me' and then my eyes 'travelled' into the distance top left. Kind of hard to explain but it left me with 'positive vibes'. And I love the use of your B/W.
