    Can I edit old posts?

I'm considering changing the web site where I keep my photos online. BUT the photos I show on this forum are hosted in a private album on that web site (SmugMug) and the result would be lots of broken links. I'd like to preserve them and wondered if I could edit them and point them to another location. But I can't see how to do it. Is it possible? (It's also a tedious task; I regret using a pay service to host the photos I show on this forum.)

Should work OK, Tony. Select the previous linking code and remove it then paste in the new information.

I sometimes do things like this after I have accidentally pasted a link to the wrong image etc.

The only thing you can't do in the Edit Post option is to change the post title. You have to contact a moderator for that.

And don't forget to click Save Changes, which is something else which I sometimes fail to do.

Any further problems, just ask for more help. Somebody always knows the answer.

The "Edit Post" link is available on my first post in this thread, but it isn't available on older posts. So I think I need help from an Administrator.

I have noticed that after a while, Edit Post is no longer available. Perhaps an admin can tell how long Edit Post is available and what can be done to update links in older posts?

Have you tried using the Go Advanced option? I often get problems with the normal Quick Reply alternative

Not sure if there is anything useful here

It looks like Reply and Reply with Quote are the only options available for my older posts Geoff.

Yes I see what you mean when I go back to one of my posts from a year ago. I can Reply and add a new link to an image as a reply but cannot directly paste into the old thread. I can copy words etc but can't paste.

    Thanks for trying to help.

I need a solution to this, as I'll probably discontinue with my SmugMug account, which will result in broken links in my posts on this forum. I'm transferring the images to TinyPic and creating a cross-reference of all the links in my posts.

I just need an Administrator to help me to modify the links.

In case they don't notice this thread, you may want to send a PM to Dave, Donald, or Colin.
