first attempt selfie
This is an image of me(AS title suggests) . I really missed when I tried to position myself. I liked it for some reason in B&W.
.
I have no experience photographing people nevermind myself, so all C&C is welcomed. Will add the shot I finished with.

Thanks for viewing.

Re: first attempt selfie
I was laughing because I had 200 mm and had to run in snow to try an beat 10 sec. timer.

Re: first attempt selfie
Get yourself a remote or a shorter focal length lens.

Re: first attempt selfie
Yes I had a 50mm about 40 yds away. So that was an option for sure. But doesn't fit in with my preference for doing everything absolutely the hardest way I can figure to.

Re: first attempt selfie
You sort of look like Sean Penn in the first one where you just captured half of your face.

Re: first attempt selfie
Try cropping the first one straight down the tree and you may have quite an interesting shot. (The part with you in, I mean)
Your stance, slightly angled to the camera was better too.
When you are framing it up, place two markers/sticks on the floor out of shot, to show the limits of the camera frame, it will help you to judge where to stand better.
