While much of the Northern Hemisphere is shivering and shoveling snow, this daffodil I found in the local community garden is meant to give hope that spring really is coming.

Should I be wishing you a slightly belated Happy Birthday?
I am wildly guessing here, but I wondered whether perhaps you received a camera as a present and joined CiC to learn how to take better photos with it?
I like the composition of your shot, often we say don't clip parts of the petals, but with the stamen as they are you can get away with it here.
If I have one suggestion to have improved this at the time of taking, it would be to always keep an eye on what is in the background and try to exclude things that are brighter than the subject. Here we have another bloom on the right and the diagonal timber
On the post processing side, you might want to try some Local Contrast Enhancement (LCE) on this, I think it could 'pop' more, especially if you were able to apply it to the daffodil only and not the background.
What image editing software do you have available to you?
Could you do me a favour please?
Could you click Settings (right at the top),
then Edit Profile (on left)
and put your first name (Daryl I guess) in the Real Name field
and where you are (roughly) in the Location field?
this helps everyone give you more personal and relevant answers - thanks.
