    Sigma 35mm f 1.4 lens

I'm looking for a 35mm lens for my 6d and have read totally awesome reviews of this Sigma. It's one of their new ART series lenses. Anyone have any experience with this lens?? Any info would be helpful. It's about $600 cheaper than the Canon 35L.

The Canon 35/1.4 is an excellent lens. I have not used the Sigma.

Not the most useful response, I understand, but the 35/1.4 really rates (for me and others) with the 135/2 and I think you should take that comparison into consideration.

    Travis,

Why you want/need a 35 F1.4 on the D6 and what you will use it for will determine if $600 is worth it or not.

The Canon lens will be better than the Sigma, I have no doubt about that.

I use the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 in Nikon mount. It's a wonderful piece of glass.
    Very sharp.

Thanks for the input guys. Steve, I think I'm going to purchase after reading all the great reviews.

    You'd be surprised......

The Canon is softer in the corners between f1.4 and f2.0. After that, they are equal in sharpness, (very sharp) but have different colour characteristics. I would say that the Canon will have faster autofocus.

    Compare them here,:

You are out frolicking around in the sunny Hertfordshire weather ... ?

(It's dismal weather down here too this weekend and this fellow is happy that his three days work is inside SOPAC)
