Around the World Thread ...

.....it would be nice to seeing the photos of all the different parts of the world where the members of this forum live......
So the idea is post a recent photo (s) where you live, be it urban, rural or even a small island in the middle of the ocean.....

I start with my city which is Adelaide in South Australia.....

I regularly show images of the area where I live in my Weekly Photos My 2014 Weekly Photos

But yes, as Nandakumar mentioned, we need an Administrator to correct that unfortunate spelling in the title in order to encourage people to respond.

I live in a semi-rural area North of the City of San Diego, California. Yes, this is a real house, not a miniature model. I shot this image with an ancient Canon D60 (not the 60D) which has been converted to full-time infra red photography.



Although my nearest city, and my mailing address, is Escondido, the only thing this city is known for is the San Diego Wild Animal Park, now called The San Diego Zoo Safari Park.



The San Diego Zoo, itself, is world famous and is one of the few places in the world in which the Giant Panda breeds in captivity.



I usually tell people that I live in San Diego which is a half truth since I live in San Diego County but not the city. We are lucky that we have a beautiful area with a very mild climate. It is the Pacific Ocean that moderates our weather and we are said to have a Mediterranean climate. However, I live about 20 miles (~30 kilometers) inland and our climate is hotter and drier than that of the coast. San Diego has more micro-climates than any other U.S. County. Often in the winter I can drive about an hour and play in the snow and then come home and change to shorts and tee shirt to wash my vehicle.



San Diego is known for having one of the best natural harbors in the world...

Richard - Very nice! I spent time in San Diego when I was in the US Navy and sometimes wonder why I left the area. Of course that was the early 1970's and I'm sure San Diego is a much different city now. None the less I enjoyed your pictures and the memories they provide.

I originally came to San Diego with the Navy (as many people did) and I spent the majority of my Naval career in San Diego or on ships or in units that deployed from San Diego. It was not always easy remaining here but, I managed to do that except for a year in Bremerton, Washington while my ship (the San Diego aircraft carrier, USS Constellation) was in the shipyards and for about four years when I was stationed in Albquerque, New Mexico.

Obviously there is more to Oahu than the concrete of Waikiki. Please participate in this thread and share a view of your world.
