    Hi David,

This type of subject seems to be generally unpopular for everyone! There are only a couple of folks in this Forum that I have seen who do it with any consistency.

The equipment needed, the space to do it, the attention to detail and what to look at/for, the knowledge to even know what attention to pay to what detail, the intricate study of how light works and how to shape it, the patience to make it all happen…

…arguably it involves a lot more than a lot of other genres.

But, if you get into it, it will be way advantageous to the genre you do prefer. No two ways about it.

Guess that’s why they teach it in college?

OK then David. You have persuaded me to keep trying at this idea.

And the third shoot, after quite a bit of editing is here amongst my Weekly Photos.

    My 2014 Weekly Photos

Tried three subjects, and several alternative shots for each subject. These have eventually come out along the lines of what I had envisaged. But I'm definitely not claiming they are any good - just done for a bit of fun on another bleak day!

Certainly a genre that is not the most popular. For me its lack of imagination I guess, having to start with a blank canvas and buil;d from it. I'm not all that keen on studio shoots where I have to direct a model. Give me a busy street and I'll focus my attention, and camera, on what I want in my image.

Different mindset, more akin to painting, which i wasn't very good at either haha.
