PP advice needed
These three images are the result of an outing up the Brisbane River to Queensland University a couple of weeks ago. I am particularly interested in people's opinions on the post processing. I have pumped up the colours more than I would normally do and I wondered whether I have gone too far. Any other helpful comments or criticisms are welcome of course.
1. Dusky moorhen
2. This duck really does have a blue patch on its side
3. It's a small world

The water is distracting but in a good way, it really brings out the depth of the image so much that you almost ignore the bird.
Nice image.

Re: PP advice needed
Hi Tony, on your last image I would try a tighter crop around the lizard: I think it gets a bit lost in the image. I think you should color to your tastes and what you're trying to achieve. On your last image, I would have colored the water plants differently and applied a different overall tint. However, that's my tastes.

Re: PP advice needed
Possibly #2 is fractionally strong on colour but not to a point which would cause me any problems.
Like Karm said, I would also crop the lizard closer. But chiefly to remove some of that out of focus wood in the bottom right corner. I find it a little distracting.
If this was sharp, but with some softness on the background, I would consider leaving it as your image size to make a 'wetlands scene plus lizard' instead of having the lizard as the main subject.
Some good shots though.

#2 is very nice but the rocks are a bit distracting and fighting for attention...so I prefer #3 instead...

Re: PP advice needed
Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated.
In #2 and #3, the bird and lizard were meant to be just part of the overall scene. That's how I thought about them as I took the pictures. I will take up the suggestion of cropping the lizard closer but only slightly to get rid of the out of focus log. The lizard in particular I thought could never be good enough to be the subject on its own even if I had zoomed in on it. In #2, the water and grass growing in it were meant to be the main features.
