Last Friday morning Dottie and I went to the rookery at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. Gatorland has a special photographers pass that can be purchased for the day or for the season that allows entrance two and a half hours before the park opens. Photography is limited to the alligator breeding ponds but that is where the rookery is. The birds have chosen this area because the alligators protect the nests and eggs from raccoons and rodents. The photography is done from a wide wooden boardwalk. These are some of the images I captured that morning. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Yes. #3 for me too...I find #4 to be cute (?funny) -- a direct contrast between mom and chick, with Mom very elegant and chick quite ruffled. One day that little one will also turn out to be the beauty like his/her Mom.

As always, beautiful images... #3 is absolutely exquisite. I love the ballerina pose and especially all the detail captured in the breeding plumage... Gorgeous!

Great images. It's a shame number 3 hasn't got the head up, that would have been cool. I really like number 3, you've captured a great pose. Last one is good too, I like close ups.
