Hawker Hurricane
Just a straightforward shot but one I have in a sense re visited. It was taken with a folding 6x9 Ensign Selfix on 120 Ektachrome transparency film. I had made a print some years ago but having scanned it on an Epson 4870 flat bed, the ability to PP it on the computer has made for a much better image. A sort of successful (IMHO) marriage of old and new technology. Thought I would share it.

Re: Hawker Hurricane
Yes a nice shot. Since you now have it in digital format, cloning out the people might be an improvement.

Re: Hawker Hurricane
Superb shot. I would leave the people in - they give a sense of scale to the aircraft.

Re: Hawker Hurricane
I too would leave the people in. I had to look for a reference (the people) to convince myself this wasn't a picture of a superbly built scale model. I like it very much!

Re: Hawker Hurricane
As a compromise, how about cloning out that 'untidy looking' group of people on the right but leaving the others, who have something of an RAF look about them?

Re: Hawker Hurricane
A great shot. Have you considered B&W? And what...no Spitfire Supermarine>?

Re: Hawker Hurricane
Thanks so much for all of your comments. I really only posted this one to show the sort of quality that some old cameras can achieve given the recent discussions on the forum but I'm glad that it has struck a chord.
Dan, as some have said, I left the figures in to give some scale. That was my first thought but they also reminded me of the iconic images of these A/C in WWII which always had pilots and ground crew lounging about waiting for things to "kickoff". I like Geoff's idea though of just losing the larger group because it fits that idea better.

Hi John,
I like Geoff's idea too.
Nice shot though.
If interested in these birds, hop over to my test image here, chosen in honour of your shot.
Cheers,

Re: Hawker Hurricane
Thanks David, thanks Kyle , thanks James.
Thanks Dave. I'm not an enthusiast per se but how can you not be interested. I was fortunate enough to be part of a company team that restored a spitfire for the RAF Memorial flight back in the 70s and I have sort of kept an eye open ever since.
