    Marble Cake

One of my cooks removed her fresh baked Marble SheetCake from the oven this morning and I was struck by the artwork she had created. Had my camera in my office and grabbed a few shots.

I was just looking at granite countertop samples today, a striking resemblance. But knowing it was marble cake...now I have the munchies.

You should had shown the cake too together with the marbling and it would have tasted a bit better...

When the cake is that beautiful, it would be worthwhile photographing it with a boom holding the camera above the cake to ensure that the camera's sensor is parallel to the cake.

You're right Mike, I work in a kitchen and I didn't have a photo boom available. Just shot hand held. I think going forward I should supply my kitchen with more photo gear since I enjoy making images of our work there.

Beautiful colours and patterns in there, Travis. You should give it an 'abstract' title and not let on what it is.

One of those concoctions that you don't want to spoil by eating, but then what would be the point! Tell her she designed a masterpiece.

This would also make a lovely texture to add to an image of just about any type..
