The foreground is excellent. Is there a way to darken the sky and river a bit?

Thanks Trevor. I have tried to darken as you suggested. Can't do much more but would welcome suggestions.

    Chris,

I like this very much particularly the gravestone areas.

The extremes of contrast unfortunately leave areas of the sky and parts of the river with little detail and like you I don't seem to be able to find much more that can effectively be done without excessive manipulation of the image.

I did however like a soft monochrome conversion I tried, as this alters the effect of the burnt out sunrise area and was able to push the contrast a little.

    Hope you don't mind...

I like the original version, Chris...there is something about the misty morning and the colour that stands out for me.

Count me in with others that prefer the softer background light in the first image Chris.

I just love nice graveyard scenes and this is a nice graveyard scene. If it was my image, I would crop the color version on the left to eliminate the gravel walkway and at the top just barely below the top of the trees.

I really like the monochrome version. The bleakness seems to go with a graveyard. But rather than cropping the gravel path I would use photoshop to clone some of the grass to cover it.
