    Some Macro

Finally got myself some extension tubes! Combined with my 100mm macro lens the results are pretty awesome. C&C Welcome.

Good series Tobias and congratulations on the tubes. What aperture were you using for these, great DoF ?

Thanks Grahame, I had the aperture between 5.6 and 8 most of the time I think because I couldn't use a tripod so I tried to keep the aperture "low" although I would have like a bit more depth.

Really nice series. Great job/lots of work, getting what you wanted hand-held. 100mm a definitely great idea for that grand spider, which I definitely wouldn't want scampering up my lens on an exploration.

OK Toby, ya got a new toy and those are good starter images, but...you need to somehow increase your DOF as you aren't getting the whole head in focus. More light with a narrower aperture or...using a photo-stacking technique would be good starting points.

The animal cruelty folks will go ballistic but I would capture them and chill them in the fridge, to slow them down, then put a drop of honey down for bait and return them to their environment that you have set-up.

Thank you everyone @chauncy I know I need more DOF and I plan to invest in some form of ring flash in the future, this side of photography is just a hobby, professionally I shoot food. Might give stacking a go one day but these images were taken in the middle of the bush so no fridge at hand but also a good idea.

Nice work Tobias, i've gotten to the point that i dont use my ext tubes with the macro lens unless its on a tripod and it aint moving..which means indoors, i dont do frozen though..not my cuppa.
I lie though, i actually use the 20mm with the macro lens and i feel that gets great results and is manageable.
My favourite is #2, Butterflies is one insect i just cant seem to get an image of.

Thanks again everyone. @Claudio this is the first time I actually managed to catch a butterfly, he/she was really into that flower and actually sat there for a while.
