I really like the lighting on the cup, Travis. Nice shading and tasteful use of specular highlights to indicate the shape.
These subjects don't work as well for me as your other subjects in this floating style, but that may be just me. If you want this floating look, go for it!

Thanks Mike for your comments. I did do a floating style for this series, just an experiment. I think it works for the cup shot but the rocks and the Asparagus lack some depth. So now I need to train my eye to see what needs some shadows and what can just float. Thanks again for you advice.

The term, "floating," refers not just to the lack of shadows on the tabletop but also to the fact that no part of the subject is touching (grounded to) any edge of the frame. As an example, crop the asparagus shot on the left so only the end of one piece can be seen. Perhaps you'll like that effect.
