Daydreaming Lioness
Taken at Chester Zoo (again) back in 2012. I've been struggling to get out lately with real life getting in the way. Hope to change that soon.
Had to take at f/2.8 to blur out the fence but I don't think it came out too bad for that. She looks a little like she wishes she was somewhere warmer.

Re: Daydreaming Lioness
There are some blue streaks in the eyes, nose, mouth and chin and neck...I suggest you run this one through the colour balance option to get rid of those streaks. Otherwise, it got a lot of potentials.

Thanks Isabel. Genuinely hadn't noticed the blue tinge. I've warmed up what I found and will post the (hopefully) fixed version later. Didn't get time to upload it before work.

Nice image. Focus is spot on which gives the image it's impact against the blurred background. It's a shame you couldn't get a bit more depth of focus but with a fence on the way there is no other option except to get in the cage or go to Longleat.

I got as close as I could and opened up that aperture. But I doubt the lovely lady would have stood still long enough for her portrait to be taken if I'd managed to get inside

Very nice, and great eye - it is interesting to see such a poignant expression to be so unequivocally recognizable in the face of another creature.

Re: Daydreaming Lioness
Nice portrait; was it a somewhat cloudy day?

I think it was yes. What makes you ask?

Re: Daydreaming Lioness
I've removed the blue tinge that I could find on my monitor. Is this any better?
