Geese landing on the River Thames
This is one of a series of images taken in great haste and I cannot take credit for how this image turned out. The geese were grazing in the park behind and I suspect they were chased by a dog. Anyway to escape they took of in unison and flew to my left before sweeping right to land on the river in front of me. All I could do was track them with the camera with the settings I was using on another subject. The Canon EF 50mm lens and 6D seem to be quite a team.

Sometimes you have to lump and take what is in front of you...unfortunate as it may seem. BUT! the point is you took it. Good on you. Anyway, to get off my soapbox, it would have been perfect if the scenario on the other side of the lake is blurred. 'Love the shot!

Nice, this pattern of flight makes panning so much easier.

Let me throw in a suggestion for the next time you have a similar opportunity.
Our eyes are naturally drawn to the brightest part of the image, and in this case, those are the massive reflections you are getting from the water. This, I find, overpowers the image, so the first thing my eyes catch are those highlight, the second are the background and finally, I see the landing geese.
I polarizing filter would cut down the reflections on the water and would darken them. That could result in an image that works a bit better.
