    Control Over The Grandeur

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It is an image of Jantar Mantar, New Delhi (Where i have started my photography approx 6 months back). I decided to visit this place again to check how much i have improved in these 6 months time.

It is a "Seflie" shot. I framed the shot and asked my friend just to click the shutter button when i will reach at this place where i'm spreading my arms.

There is a little tilt in the structure itself and i have darkened the stairs in post processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended).

Nice, I had to look more than once to recognize the subject.

Thanks a lot for your kind review and feedback. If possible please provide more information how to make the subject standout in this situation.

PS : Did a subtle change in the image

Very interesting image. Sharp and with a good tonal range and structure for monochrome.
I played with it and wonder if you'd consider experimenting with moving this off center... I tried cropping enough off one edge to make it basically a square image. To me that makes it even more interesting and places more emphasis on the subject (you), while it doesn't lose the powerful sense of the symmetry of the pattern, which totally takes over in the centered version. Just a thought.

Thanks a lot for the review and the suggestion. I tried to crop as suggested but i think i'm missing something with the crop. If possible please feel free to upload and share the cropped version.

I think what you have presented is about as much as you can do. The only option would be to lighten the area around your shirt where it sort of melds with the black leading lines.

OK, here's sort of what I was thinking - I think the symmetry is great, but you can tell it is there without centering it. I cooled this a tad and put in a little GND from the lower left. Thanks for the invite - I think it's a very interesting image.
