    Which one?

My husband is slowly getting his feet wet in PP. I've been trying to get him to sign up here, but so far all he does is lurking - and reading some of the tutorials.
After an ice-storm overnight, we drove around the neighbourhood and took around a 100 pictures.
About 20 or so will end up as keepers, and while I played domestic goddess, he hogged my computer and played with one of the pictures that he liked. Just to try out the things he learned from reading up on photo editing and PhotoShop.
He came up with 3 slightly different versions and the question is now: which one? He wants it as his new wall paper.
Neither one of us can really decide, although my preference is in favour of the monochrome.

    Which one?

    Which one?

    Which one?

    Recommendations for improvement greatly appreciated.

I actually like the first and second one only because there looks like a path into the background. The monochrome image sort of blends it in as a solid.

I prefer the second one, the first one seems a bit bland to me and the monochrome has too much going on for me, my eye can't seem to settle anywhere.

No. 2 for me Kris. The additional saturation defines the colours more. They look a bit over sharpened on my monitor though. Have they been sharpened?

I don't really know - this was my husband's baby, and I just posted them to get some feedback.
He's pretty proud of himself right now with his first PP project. He has a couple other versions saved. But these 3 were his favorites.
Guess I'm in the minority here - viewing on my laptop, I still like the B/W.

The black and white is nice, but the colors adds information that makes the bank of vegetation on the left so interesting. Of the two color versions, I like the first - the cooler temps fit with the subject nicely.

    Re: Which one?

    Sorry, that was Richie's reply..

I really liked the B&W because of the dominant contrasts....

By the way, i feel the urgency of clockwise rotation through one degree or so... i think the crust of rock that borders the horizon is not the reference, but the overall tilt in flora...or is that way last strong wind blown?
    Not sure
Regards to you and your hubby

Looking closely, I think you may be right - I'll check on the original RAW file.
