Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
Hi Jack, I have been following your street shots and find them refreshing in that they are a slice of everyday life rather that 'the big dramatic moments'.
I like all the hats in this shot but wish I could see the feet on the only guy without a hat. Alternately, if you are not stuck on one aspect ratio, consider a crop to the bottom of the table removing a good portion of the legs of all three subjects and leaving simply an array of hats and one hat-less guy for the eyes to wander through.
Just out of curiosity, are you adding grain to this street series in PP or does it exist due to the shooting conditions?

Nice title, Jack.
What interests me is the juxtaposition of the young guy in black hat, black coat and dark glasses with the (apparently) older woman, in light hat, coat, and glasses. Without wishing to stereotype anyone, it seem like a street tuff conning a librarian.

Very well done - story beats drama every time, for me. I have the same question as Shane about grain.

Shane,
Thank you very much. Yeah unfortunately that one guy's feet just didn't make it into the image. Let me do another crop per your suggestion and I'll put it up here.
Mostly, I've kind of been adding the grain; I like the grittier feel to the image with some grain. I don't know...too much?
Thank you again.

Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
Greg,
Thank you. You know I really hadn't noticed but once you pointed it out, it does seem like maybe there's a bit of a con going on. But then, it's a street vendor, so negotiations are recommended. The other thing I saw but didn't notice was the contradiction between the 'tuff' and the 'librarian': dark clothes, hat, sunglasses vs. light clothing, hat, glasses. Maybe it was the subliminal contradiction that caught my eye.
Thanks again.

John, as always thank you for your comments. The title was the first and only one that popped into my head (pun intended).
Thanks again.

Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
Thank you Mark. Those 'drama' shots are hard to come by but, it's not a lot easier finding a decent story shot either. But the more I look the more I see. And re: the grain, it is intentional. Too much? As I pointed out to Shane, I kind of like the gritty look but...
Thanks again.

Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
I love this slice of life in the streets... I wonder if just a bit cropped off the top would direct more attention to what is happening?

Thanks Richard. You don't think cropping some more off the top will make it too cramped?

Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
Jack...I suggest you crop on the right side to the pole and remove that woman not included in your story line. I agree with John, nice title.

Re: How To Get Ahead In Business C&C welcome
I agree, the figure in the BG on the far right is a distraction and could usefully be cropped. Otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing. Nice grab shot.

Thank you Isabel. Again, one of those things I didn't notice, the woman on the far right BG. I will post a crop later.
