Lanzarote volcanoes - C&C welcome

Hi,

This (as you can see) is a B&W conversion of part of Lanzarote's volcanic landscape. Converted with Nik's SEP 2, I have used high structure to try and bring out the textures in the rock. Any comments and C&C welcome.

This is the first image I've posted from my Panasonic G5 c/w 14-140mm. I used that combo through the week's trip, and was impressed.

I like this shot but not sure the B&W works. My very rusty memory of Lanzarote was the rich colours together in the 'moonscape' environment and this shot doesn't quite capture this for me.

You are right about the colours, Kaye, here is the original processed to bring them out. My thinking was that maybe there was another one there, which relied on texture rather than colour for its effect.

I do prefer the colour version - maybe the b&w doesn't work as the sky is quite featureless ?

You are right listening to Kaye, it is so much better in colour. It also seems too soft and smooth in mono?

Just how I recall it too. I take it this is down the South West side of the island....the moon landing site!!

I think your quest for texture very nearly made it. The bleakness of the sky in the mono version is a bit overpowering for me but there looks to be some detail there Dave. Can it be brought out a bit? Like both versions really. They're just a different approach.
