Appealing, John, and an interesting treatment post capture. Only detraction is the head (?) marring the lower left corner. Cropping to square, with just the musicians' torsos would deal with it, but lose nice context.
Very nice John I just wonder how the original shot was..
Hi, John,
The treatment of your initial post is interesting, but for me, busy.
I much prefer the color and crop of the second. in fact,I would crop just a hair further up the thigh so as not to be directly above the knees.
Nice image, descriptive title.

I like both versions of this John. There's an appeal to it that's difficult to explain, perhaps it's the inclusion of the Marshall amp a British icon whose production started way back in the 60s
Grahame
Love the colour version, John...without the hair treatment...
Colour for me as well John. I very much like abstract treatments but in this one my eye is continuously pulled between the highlight of the background the her legs (photographically of course) when the point of interest is what they are doing.
No 2 for me bud,the girl looks so intense, great stuff
I like the first one better, minus the bottom right corner. The second one is great too. The guy looks like he's really enjoying what he's doing while the girl seems more focused.
I see we're exploring our artsy-fartsy side
#1 reminds me of a 70's album cover (or very early MTV). Staying with #1, I would suggest removing the (light?) stand coming out of the violinist's head as well as the wires above her head. That cleans up the image and gives a timeless look. The other thing is that, for me at least, the amp is too perfect, in that it doesn't appear to have been processed as much as the guitar.
The second image is good, but it's really just a photo of two musicians. Faces and expressions are clearer but for me this image works better in your first image.
