Blue Tit in Motion
One of our resident Blue Tits returning after a hard days work. The technique needs a medium telephoto, the camera set on continuous, a remote release, a garden chair and a couple of cans of cold beer. Not the best quality image (four frames) but I thought I would post it out of interest.

Re: Blue Tit in Motion
That's cool. A bit of burlap covering the wire in the BG might be worth a try.

Re: Blue Tit in Motion
Nice birds with nice colours, but they don't stand out well because of the shadows in the background.I don't know if anything can be done about it in PP..

Re: Blue Tit in Motion
You have certainly captured the motion there, John.
Blue tits are so difficult to get sharp. I reject a lot of my shots from static birds!
The only thing I would have tried differently would be to increase the Iso, probably as much as Iso 800, so as to give a little more in the way of shutter speed and a narrower aperture for better focus depth.
But as you say, some very interesting shots; even if they aren't absolutely perfect photographically speaking.

Love it too, John. Did you drink your beer from a straw to keep your eyes on the sequence?

Re: Blue Tit in Motion
Thanks all for the comments. I had been photographing hoverflies during the afternoon and was relaxing with a drink watching the birds when the idea occurred to me.
Dan, Geoff, Binnur, it's an idea I would like to try again but not here because the sun is behind the fence most of the day and only on the back of the birds in the early evening - hence the heavy shadows. Not Ideal.
