Sensual Shoulders

I have spent very little time on the boards and no time in my makeshift studio the past four days thanks to being sick only for the first time in about 9 years and the second time in about 17 years. My doctor says it was either food poisoning or a stomach virus. Not used to being sick, I reacted like any self-respecting wimp should.

I spent the entire time being sick hoping I would soon get better to make this image, which I conceived the day before I got sick.

I like the colours in this Mike. The 2 jagged lines worry me, though.

Thanks, Greg. I would have to know more specifically what you're referring to. I wonder if what you perceive as "jagged" I perceive as "attractively undulating."

I also wonder if I have any idea what part of the image you're referring to. Perhaps I'm not as far back to good health as I thought.

Mike, in the two spaces either side of the central bottle, at the bottom of the salmon coloured space where the silhouette of the other two bottles overlaps the main one, there is a little jagged black spot. It is not a physical edge on the glass, but maybe something to do with the shadow of the main bottle coming through the edge of the other two.

If you're referring to where the bright reflection ends on the left shoulder of the far right bottle and the right shoulder of the far left bottle, I'm not sure what's causing that. I would have to be better at determining angles to know the cause. Regardless, I don't find that unappealing but would always want you to continue mentioning anything of that sort that troubles you.

Sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well, and here is hoping that this makes you feel better.


A truly exquisite and magical image. I would be delighted to hang this image on a wall in my home and take pleasure in gazing at this image for hours at a time, for many a day, for years to come.


Just in case you need some spurring on to ensure a complete recovery... I'm very much looking forward to the remainder of this series, especially the image titled "Sensual Legs and Feet!"

Yes, a great study in what I'd call a peach/amber almost monochrome, and I note that superimposition and eccentricity add to what makes it a highly agreeable composition.
