Been Away

To all my friends at CiC

Sorry to disappear without notice for the last two weeks but after being retired for 8 years I was called back into service in Chicago to help manage a corporate project. Like most things of this nature, it has mushroomed from a 4 hour per day estimate to a full blown Project Management position that may last through the end of March or longer. I am back home now and should be able to work from home for most of the rest of the project.

As a result, I will likely have minimal time available to keep in touch and although I will check in from time to time, I want you to know that my friends at CiC are in my thoughts on a regular basis.

I did get a chance to take a few pictures of Chicago snow with my cell phone but they are dismal. I'll post as I get the opportunity!

Thank you all for thinking of me!

This is not a forced situation so I'm not doing it for monetary reasons (although the wife has mentioned that she would like a screened porch out back!). It's much more to have something fun and exciting to do and to be able to contribute to the success of others. I guess if it is a failed retirement Dan, then it is failed because I was starting to get bored and needed a reason to set the alarm clock.

As somebody who has three retirements behind her, I'm pleased to report that the third one has pretty much stuck! At any rate, it's been going on for 7 years. Every once in a while somebody wants to give me money to do stuff, but I've been pretty successful to limiting it to three half-days in a week and all expenses, including mileage, breakfast and lunch, etc. accrues to whoever is giving me the $$$. Welcome back whenever you make it here.
