    Lady Artist At Work

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

I saw this lady working... an interesting face with dramatic light on her. It was clicked in the afternoon when she was sitting in her shop. For this angle the space was too limited and couldnt move further back (else wall would have came in the frame). With this angle including her leges was nt possible bcoz there were many artistic stuffs were there in the foreground hiding her legs.

I tried to get a artist's shop feel in the background and the way she was working and concentrating on her work. I also tried to include the way she was holding the brush.

    Thank you

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended).

Possibly a fraction on the yellow side, Raj. But for an indoor shot that is probably an accurate representation of the ambient lighting.

Maybe consider a slight crop from the top. To some extent, showing all of those images on the wall is a little distracting.

But that would mean changing to a square crop; unless you can get away with losing a fraction from the right side as well.

Nice environmental portrait. It shows the artist in her setting.

The colours balance looks off and the image looks way over saturated, I don't think anyone has skin quite that orange. I think it probably looks more like this (sorry for editing the image, I can remove it if you wish).

It might help you to know that I thought the same as Manfred before I saw his post. Seeing his version confirms my thinking.

Sorry Raj; the colours still look way too orange for me; I really don't see any improvement.

What are you doing to try to fix the colours? What software are you using and what steps are you taking to do so? Is your computer screen calibrated and profiled?

I also see very little change in the color balance, not nearly enough.
