Hi, You should have a look at On1 Photo it is NOT a plug-in but a complete editing stand alone software and very soon with a new RAW converter. Russ

I did own an older version of it and really did not like it very much. I vastly preferred Nik.
At the time OnOne did not have either a stand alone editor nor a raw editor. I don't think I will look at it as Photoshop seems to be what I use for my editing work. As for raw converters, I use Phase One Capture One and DxO Optics Pro, in addition to Adobe Camera Raw. I don't think I will be spending any money on a third one unless it produces some really spectacular results.

For the record, On1 can be used either as a plugin or standalone.
If I were competent in Photoshop, I certainly wouldn't need it.
Sadly, I am not, so for me its a very useful occasional tool

I`m a bit late joining this conversation,so here goes.............
I`ve recently downloaded Nik as a CS4 plugin.Still not up to speed with it but I do find Sharpener Pro the best sharpening tool I`ve used.Anyone else used it?
I too have never heard of Photo Pos Pro.

I'd agree that it is an excellent tool. I say 'it' as I only use Sharpener Pro 3 (2) Output Sharpener. I don't use the RAW Presharpener tool as my capture sharpening is performed by the DxO Optics programme that I use for RAW processing.
