Here's Something You Don't See Everyday

While walking back to my car, I saw an apple roll out of the bushes, closely followed by a rabbit. It settled down to munch on the apple so I raised the camera but, of course, the moment I pressed the shutter button it picked up the apple and ran. So, the shot is less than perfect but it gives me a smile. Hope it does you, too.

Very cute, Greg. And spot on too on sharpness. Even the busy BG did not detract to the colour of the rabbit and the apple provided an extra colour to the whole shot. Good one.

Nice, rabbits are hard to focus on even if they are completely still, almost like trying to photograph leaves on a tree.

Such photos need to have exact timing and the photographer should be appreciated for that.

A bit OT, but here's another animal story that you don't hear every day ...

The only thing I wonder about with this shot, Greg, is could you crop a little tighter at the top to lose some of the distracting foliage?

Would you be able to fit it to another 'standard' image size? Alternatively I suspect you could get away with losing something from the left.

Not really a lot wrong with the shot, even if it is shot a little to the rear.

Thank you all for viewing and commenting. I am glad you enjoyed it too. I was more interested in the novelty of the scene. If it hadn't been for the apple, I wouldn't have bothered with the shot.

Geoff, here is a tighter crop.

That is an unusual situation. Particularly with your story of how the apple preceded the wabbit. Thanks for sharing.

+1 to Nandakumar's opinion - it's very hard to plan shots like that and even harder to criticise such an excellent grab shot.

Tighter crop looks good to me. There is a grass stem over the top of the rabbit's rear end that could be cloned out. It becomes more noticeable with the crop but I'm not really worried about it.

Izzie, Dan, Geof, Steve, David, thanks for viewing and commenting. I might print this one for my grandson's bedroom wall.
