would like to see the original. The colors are a bit too vibrant for this type of processing.

John ,Asian People like vibrant colours already and it is a photo from a festival. So,the vibrant colours may not be related to the type of edit..

    Hi Binnur,

Nothing against vibrant colors, I just felt the soft focus applied in post processing lessened the appeal of the colors.

Hmm,I see John.In this case the original is needed for comparisonBut without soft focus I think BG colours will be distracting because there are strong pink and dark blue colours in the BG.

I'm happy with those colours but I find that bright white area in the top left corner is somewhat distracting and tends to take my view away from her face. Maybe a tighter crop?

I like the sharpness of this one, Richard, but I can see the reason why you blurred the background...

Richard, I prefer the delicacy of colour that you have achieved in the first version because to me, it flatters the subject more. However, I am not so keen on the heavy black border but that of course, is a matter of personal preference.

I like the original more Richard.I'm very new to PP ,so I don't know if it is possible to blur the BG without touching the girl.BG is a bit distracting.

I like the original also, the background can be blurred without altering the girl or her attire.

I with you, Richard, I think your treatment in NIK enhances the original very nicely, and brings forth your subject well while preserving the story of the gaily colored surroundings and at the same time making them less intrusive.
That said, to me, critique is not about finding the right answer, it is about seeing more possibilities.

I do like the colour and sharpness of the original but that background is a tad distracting. Overall both are great.
