    Dog portrait 1

After reading 1 post by Richard and seeing all these great dog shots lately, I thought I would give it a go. Since I don't have a studio I hung a brown sheet over a doorway and shot a halogen through an umbrella. I then had my lovely assistant (my wife) tempt my 1 1/2 yr old Mountain Cur (Remi) with a Scooby snack. This is the result.

I blew my focus point, I believe I focused on the muzzle instead of eyes.

Pets are so energetic it's difficult to get them in focus.

I suspect DoF (or rather a lack of it) played a part here too.
