    You have some wonderful compositions and colour in all these shots, Janis, but I particularly like #6. I have always thought of tulips as being rather simple (in structure) and shy flowers. I think the 6th portrays those qualities admirably.

    Thank you everyone. It is very gratifying to think they might have brightened your day as they did mine. (Which I might add, brought us yet more snow. :-()

    Izzy, I use a cable release most of the time. I have a wireless IR release that I bought for my D90 that I assume works with the D7100 but it needs line of sight and I am usually behind the camera, so I just don't find it as convenient to use for the majority of my shooting conditions. No question but that a remote is essential for macro, though.
