Western Meadowlark in the Golden Hour
The spent the other evening at Antelope Island State Park scoping out a branch that Meadowlark's enjoy perching on. I've been trying for awhile to get a shot of one on this branch. Well, as evening rolled around the sun started going down I finally saw one and without hesitation photographed as much of it as I could before it flew off. Every other time I've attempted the birds fly as soon as I get within distance. This was shot at 600MM and cropped down to size.

Just great! Waiting for the light paid off well. Bird brilliant, background perfect. Seems that meadowlark perch was pruned for them?

Wonderful capture, Mavourneen, I love the colours in this shot. Your patience and persistence has been rewarded.
