Can I get some info of sites for learning Photography

Can I have some reference of sites which teach what to shoot and how to shoot in photography.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

Well, for starters, there's Cambridge in Colour. Then there's Ken Rockwell.

    Hi Troy,

A bit "one extreme to the other", but I suspect you knew that would illicit a response!
Thanks a lot, that's caused me another job - you don't think I have enough to do?

    Hi Kranthi,

You do need to be aware that not everything you read on Ken Rockwell is to be taken at face value - don't believe everything you see there, while much is good, and I linked to it myself only last night, there is a lot of embellishment of the facts and personal opinions stated in a way that makes it very believable. If you go there you MUST read all of the "About" page.

As for what to shoot; shoot what you want to shoot.

    Cheers,

    I've recently discovered this site:

    http://www.normankoren.com/

He's the founder of IMATEST by the way! Page itselft looks very retro, but check out tutorials.

    Kranthi,

Your sujbect matter should be something that's accessible to you.
    1. For instance, still life can be objects you find in the home, how you photograph it depends on the lighting, composition, etc.
    2. You could photograph family and friends, again the above would apply but you could choose between portraiture and candid photography.
    3. Architecture and landmarks.

You have the opportunity to photograph many things but what it boils down to is "does the subject interest you enough to invest the time, patience and energy"?

Kranthi: Of course you should check the Photography Tutorials here at the Cambridge site - Link at top of page or here: https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm.

I also think you will find a lot of useful information just browsing through the threads here. As you are reading you will also find links to many other useful sites. Doing it that way you will be able to decide on your own if the site or link may be what you are looking for.

I came across this application on iTunes. It is pretty good. I haven't gone through its tutorial much, but there is a section "Settings Finder" which helps you in choosing the setting as per the situations (lighting, primarily.) Not a bad deal for 0.99 USD

But nothing like members here, on CiC. You can eat up their brains as much you want to. They won't squeal . I, myself have learnt a lot here. You get good constructive criticism here. But the ultimate source of practical learning is to get out and take pictures with different settings. Theoretical knowledge is enough on this site.

PS:- How about showing us some of Birla Temple, Salarjung Museum, Tank Bandh road

    Hi again Kranthi,

Sahil has made a very good point, nothing beats experience, so just get out and use your camera - whatever you currently have - sorry, if I knew, I have forgotten

.. and ask specific questions here when you get stuck.

The other advantage of getting out and doing it is you'll soon discover what you do like photographing and what's "too much trouble"

The other things I did when I was at about your stage of development was find something going on in the community and photograph that, I made 'friends' at a cycle club or two and went to photograph their races; for example

Or 'put your thinking cap on' and take a picture for the https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/thread3580.htm

    Hope that helps,

    Hello Kranthi,

There is so much to learn here on CiC and remember, there is no such thing as a silly question! In saying this, there is nothing wrong with checking out other sites (I think Here is one I found a while ago that you might be interested in :
