    Unusual Rescue Dog

Dakota is a very unusual rescue dog. Where most of our rescues originate from shelters, this little guy was well cared for. His owner was transferred to an overseas job to which she could not take Dakota. She knew that we are very careful about who adopts our dogs, so she turned him over to us for placement. Besides being a good looking purebred Maltese, he has a very friendly and loving personality.

I have not photographed a Maltese of this quality since we were breeding and showing those little dogs...

What a beautiful dog, Richard. I am sure the owner/s' hearts are breaking when they have to leave him behind...I pray you find someone who will take good care of him soon and for the rest of his life, this time around.

    Re: Unusual Rescue Dog

His owner stated that he is a frequent and very loud barker. We have found that he barks only when he is confined. He is happy as can be when wandering around...

Unfortunately, many Maltese show dogs do not live a great life. Their movements and play are very restricted because of possible damage to the coat. We never worried about that when we were showing Maltese. It was our contention that unless you are providing a good life for a dog, you are wrong. Damned the worry about show coat...

Our little show dog, Dandy, always had free roam of the house (unless we were gone) and we were able to finish him as an A.K.C Champion.

However, we no longer breed. Instead all of our energy (and money) goes to rescues. It's a lot more emotionally rewarding but, no where near as financially rewarding.
