An osprey With That Look In His Eye
I love it when hunting birds suddenly spot something and their whole body seems to tense and focus. This is one of a local pair that I have been trying to get a decent pic of for a while. I find myself ambivalent about the leg rings. In one way they take away the wildness of the bird though of course it is a wild free bird. But on the other hand it means it's health is monitored and that can only be a good thing. Am interested in what you think of the pic, all C@C welcome.

A crop from the left would improve it ... with that keen piecing look it needs more space on the right in front of it.

Hi Peter, a very good image. I don't really notice the leg rings as my attention is drawn to the head and eye. Love the ruffled feathers - adds texture. That blue sky is very intense did you use a polarizing filter? For me composition is fine

Brilliant, precise, and moment-capturing. I like where the bird is in the frame. I suppose radio collars and rings are the price of that fact that at least we are trying to look out for the welfare of some of our fellow creatures.... finally.

Nailed it. Well done Peter.
I agree about the crop. The space to the rear of the bird isn't really contributing anything to the image. Maybe worth looking at a crop pretty tight to the rearmost feathers so that all the space is then in front of the bird.
