A Murmuration of Starlings for Izzie

There you go Izzie. The reason for the mono is that the starlings were almost lost against a coloured sky but I was able to use the colour filters in CS6 to lighten it. In the mono version the sea looks very grainy but in fact that's a stream of Starlings in their final dive to roost under the pier.

Oh John how beautiful! I love both of them...the colour version brought out the mood of the shot...the guy on the beach shows the perspective of how wide the area is. Selective colouring of the street/bridge light is a nice touch...Spectacular views, spectacular shots. To me they are both perfect shots.

Thanks John...you should see the big smile on my face...

Thanks all for your comments. Izzie, it's a seaside pier. The building on the end is a thearter. I did wonder if the roosting starlings can be heard during the performance. They can be quite noisy.

That theatre being where it is located, should have a good sound proof surrounds or else, not only the starlings' murmurations dominate any performances held there or incorporating the sound of the sea and the murmurations can be quite challenging to say the least...
