I was waiting to see what posts were made. It looks like it is a lost art or a technique that PP, layers and blue/green screen has almost made obsolete. May be not for video but certainly little used for still photography.
Having answered you are now bound to be flooded with posts saying I am wrong.![]()
L.Paul, when I referred to matte painting I was referencing digital and not oil painting on glass. Making composites from bits of other images is what I had in mind. Any takers?![]()
If it is 'scapes for backgrounds etc try using Bryce - It is now a free landscape rendering program. Vue is another, and a lot more capable, however it is not free.
Chauncey, that 4th one I really like,
Cheers: Allan
Thank you Allen, I appreciate that.![]()
Richard...Those suggestions of yours, in my years pursuing this hobby, never have I felt more inadequate.![]()
Sorry, about that Chauncey.
I used to play around with 3d graphics quiite a few years ago, however after a while I realised it was much better to get away from the computer and do some photography.
Love the Dunes shots. Frank Herbert would be right at home.
