Taken in Front of Sydney Opera House

I was doing a series on Photographing the Photographer, one of the gems I took.

I love it John...this one so funny...you could have handed the guy a pillow. I am sure he will appreciate that...

    Thanks Isabel,

We are always talking about carrying tripods or monopods, the next big ticket item for photographers: Photo Pillows. Can be used as a beanbag, support for the photographer, nice perch for that cute puppy you see while strolling.

What I find most interesting is the guy in the foreground: intent enough on getting a specific angle, yet apparently happy enough to do so with just a smart phone. However, the composition is pretty interesting/funny, one above the other. Cool shot.

When I try an ultra low angle like that, I lay down on my front which makes my back ache when I try to twist enough to take the shot. I've never thought about doing in that way before.

    Thanks Richard,

I have another one where I caught about five photographers. They were sprawled out at the base of a fountain.

Thanks Jack. These two individuals were part of a photography group out on an excursion, they had wandered away from the pack.

This is too funny. Just goes to show you don't have to have a DSLR to look foolish taking photos.

Thanks for the comments Greg. I'm starting to grunt less as I exercise more, I think we overlook the amount of exertion that photography can take on us.

It's much easier for people like myself who don't care about fellow man and therefore could give a rip what they think...

Thanks for that look in the mirror John although these days, I stay on my feet for preference. It's not the getting down that's the problem nor what I look like whilst I'm down there but the struggle of returning to head height that get the pitying looks.

    This, I can identify with

I find a monopod can help - not for putting the camera on, you understand

I don't care too much what they think either - the main thing - and I have succeeded so far - is to get vertical without passers by rushing over to help you up

    LOL
