    A Sure Sign of Spring

My friend Greg says "You can have your Robins, the call of the Osprey is a sure sign of spring."

Very pretty, Andrew...I like the shine of the light on the birds...Is the close-up as a follow up to the perspective better? just asking..

Isabel - I'm not sure I understand your question. The light on the birds was nice as it was about 45 minutes prior to the sunset.

    John and David - Thanks!

I understand where the light is coming from Andrew...somehow my tongue and thinking got the best of me and asked a confusing question. My question is actually, did you manage to get a close up shot (optical), meaning zoomed in with your lens? Or if you do a digital close up of what you have here, how sharp would it be? It is because I like the BIF side of your shot...If not, it doesn't really matter.

Re: A Sure Sign of Spring

Isabel - I shot the image from my fishing kayak. The 210mm lens was zoomed all the way out on my Sony NEX-6 camera which has a 1.5 crop factor. In Lightroom I cropped the image to an 8x10 format. The crop removed an extraneous branch from the left, some sky, and a bit of the very top of the tree. To help answer your question I have included a 1:1 crop from the next photo in the sequence; what do you think?
