I haven't forgotten at all; in fact I do use these lenses on my video camera using a Novoflex adaptor.
My issue really is that part of the Leica camera "feel" (and frankly one of the reasons I bought into the system in the first place) is that my D800 feels downright cheap when shooting beside my 35 year old Leicas. These camera bodies have always been beautifully built machines, assembled on an optical bench, rather than on an assembly line. The focusing screen in the Nikons, Canons, Sonys, etc. have been developed for autofocus and simply are not the bright and crisp ones used in the the film cameras, and while I do understand that there are third party screens, the ones I looked at are poor compared to the old ones.
