    Magnolias

Hi, this is what I shoot this afternoon, inspired by the Magnolia Image "Gentle Touch" of Pellegrino, though, not comparable to that light exposure. Probably it is wrong to take it against the setting sunlight. I would be pleased to read your opinions in general and towards the background, I guess it's simply too distracting...

Those are all nice shots -- #2 for the first set and #2 for the second set. #3 in the second set seems to need a bit of saturation...it is hurting to my old eyes...

How tall is your magnolia over there in Germany? Ours here in my frontyard is a tree and it is just starting to bud...some pink buds are coming out despite the cold...best in the whole neighbourhood, according to my husband...

this is one of the best compliments I could ever received. I inspired someone \o/

I like all the shots, but I could not be "impartial" =P
My favourite is the first image, is nicely composed and the focus plus the warm intense colour in the foreground against the colder and softer colours in the background create a nice balance and a good perspective... more over the flowers seems to point to that path of clear sky in the upper right corner, which is a nice effect and create dynamism.
    Great job Brigittte

    Thanks all for your comments

How tall is your magnolia over there in Germany?
Isabel, we have a distribution of about 50 - 50 Magnolia shrubs (about 2 - 2,5 metres high) and trees (about 5 -7 metres high and quite impressive in volume) over here. When I walk through the suburban and the city, I can see one every few 100 metres, my daughter and me made a game out of it who discovers the next one first.

They can be improved with PP as well
Sorry if that's an embarrassing question, but Binnur, would you explain what PP means?

    I like the perspective taken.
John, it's because I am so small

You are welcome, Pellegrino - yes, you gave me the idea, but I doubt mine can compete against your composition

Also thanks to you, Nandakumar Receiving such compliments makes me smile and bears me a bit out in doing not too bad

Not any question is embrassing in CIC Brigitte.PP means 'post processing' as far as I know I have learnt some abbreviationsin CIC in time and I still don't know what 'LOL' means

Haha, thanks for explaining PP, Binnur, Lol means laughing out loud, glad I could help you in reverse. And yay, I figured out "IMO" and "DOF" and "OOF" (I think) by myself
Maybe a key for all the abbreviations referred to photography should be linked on CiC
