Looks like food is scarce to be sure. There is going to be a lot of confused wildlife this spring.

They are definitely confused Dan. We've seen Canadian Snow Owls in Jersey this winter and Canadian Geese and Wild Turkeys. The Climate change is affecting everything.

Re: Ready for Spring damn it !!
Travis,
There is always variability in Snowy Owl (and most species) populations. Owl populations increase following an increase in lemming populations. With an abundant food supply, owls may lay up to a dozen eggs (with a greater chance of all or most fledging). Since they establish territories, young owls will move further and further south to find territory and food sources. Cycles are dynamic and can't necessarily be ascribed to climate change.
As for the Canada Geese, they typically are found all along the eastern seaboard in winter. Likely, the Canada Geese that breed in northern New England migrate to southern New England (and N.J.) and those from CT may migrate to the Carolinas.
Turkey populations are a result of reforestation in the North East and restocking of breeding pairs and flocks. (In CT, turkey flocks were traded to Maine for breeding pairs of Fisher Cats, there are now breeding populations in CT.) I'm not saying climate change isn't having an affect on the planet, I'm just pointing out that Snowy Owls, Canada Geese and Turkeys are rather commonplace in southern New England.
Great shots by the way!

I read in this week's weather report (week of the 23rd) that they are expecting another blizzard near your area. Keep the toes warm.
Nice image.
