Re: White Pelican
David thank you for your comment. I agree, many do not care for the artificial nature of such images because they feel it departs from classic photography. A perfectly understandable reaction i.e. Picaso versus Vermeer. However when analized from its inseption, digital photographs are created from a manulation of pixels which, in many dslr cameras, includes sharpening, saturation ect. before it is downloaded from the camera as an image requiring further manipulation in Photoshop. Therefore I reason that digital photography is just a subjective display of pixel manipulation. One cannot say photography, film or digital, is an "art" form of the type requiring draftmanship, medium selection and tactile application. But photography can require knowledge and skil as challenging as painting. Ansel Adams spent hours in a dark room preparing just one print which he created by dodging, masking, using different chemicals and photographic print paper. His landscape photography is stunning, but he did not achieve such straight from his camera's negative, but from his exceptional skill in the dark room manipulating the print, that was his art form.

Thank you Binnur. The plug-in filter for photoshop called "Fractalius" is a product of Redfield Plugins. A trial version can be downloaded for free if you have an interest in trying it.

Re: White Pelican
Rollin...you surely piqued my curiosity with that filter. While I'm not nuts about your image...perusing a gallery of images with the filter applied really caught my attention. Will be giving it a shot...bad groaner.
