    Hedgehog

Yes really - these were taken at Avebury last autumn and are ancient burial mounds colloquially called hedgehogs - I have only just got around to processing them. Have experimented with the B&W I'm interested to know what you think...or whether the autumn colour is better

And the as the sun was setting, a couple of shots of the ring itself.....to me the first captures some of the essence and magic of this ancient site - perhaps it would be nice not to have people in it, but perhaps they add something to it ? It is one of those places where you are free to roam but everyone does with a degree of reference. And the second - unashamably a selfie !

Thoughts, C&C for all images appreciated

For me, Kaye, the monochrome needs a reduction in the foreground. Which would mean a different image size ratio.

The same shot works much better in colour because there is a noticeable variation of colour/brightness in the foreground with this version which retains interest and balances better with those darker trees.

The third image is a good scene full of atmosphere.

The forth one has potential but I'm not keen on the shadow. Sometimes that sort of thing adds interest but it isn't really working for me this time.

Just a thought, but have you tried that one in B&W?

Very nice, I like the color version of the distance trees and the hazy image with the structures in the background.

I like the color version, Kaye. If you could pull out a tad of detail in the sky the B/W would be improved IMO.

I agree that the foreground could be reduced (by about half) but I think the image is much better in B&W. The color version dazzles the eye with the green grass and rust of the leaves, and that's all you see. In B&W one can appreciate the 'hedgehog' much more.

It's got to be the colour version for me Kaye. The complimenting colours give it a bit more zing (is that a word?). Not sure about the self portrait though.

Thanks all. Geoff and Dan I've played with the B&W as per your suggestions and here is the amended version which I like better - the 16:9 ration also emphasises the hedgehog......

Hi Kaye, edited B&W version is nice with details in the sky but it is brighter than the original,if you adjust the brightness it might look even better. I loved the coloured one too
