Not sure if it's better to leave it coloured or to convert it to B/W. What do you think?

Such a serious look on the young girls face. I like the color version better.

Both are good, but her wispy hair blowing in the breeze is more noticeable in the colour version.

Oops, just realised I should have posted the pictures into "People and Pets"... should I change it?

James, she can be very brightly, but that serious as well...

I'm gonna sit on the fence
    David, I am confused...

Thank you Geoff for the hint, now that you say that, it's evident. For some reason I like the sea-images in monochrome a lot

Brigitte - If you don't tell anyone, neither will I!

One of the good things about this forum is that people don't get too concerned about things like that.

I like the coloured version Brigitte...though the B/W is good too, just the coloured one has more information to it.

I think the B&W emphasizes better what is unique here: a lovely young girl deep in pensive thought, the seriousness of her expression juxtaposed against the typically light-hearted excursion to the water. For me the color version is more the expected, hence, less interesting.

I like them both just about equally... However, I'd like to see the crop at the bottom just a tiny bit tighter to eliminate the triangular area of water and the green blouse below where the cross beam meets the post (lower right of image). That area, is more noticeable to me in the color version...

    Hi Brigitte.

Color. Crop small amount off right side. Beautiful young girl and photo is well taken.

Lovely shot. Initial reaction was I prefer the color, but both have their merits. It may not be my place to offer another suggestion, but I can't help myself. Next time, consider a slightly lower point of view, more on the eye level of the girl, or even possibly looking up at her just slightly. This would remove the distracting water in the bg, bring the viewer in for a more personal view, and reveal more of her face. Just my thoughts. Great image.

    Thank you Ken

Of course you can suggest, I experienced that it has a better effect being more lower than being above. In this case I would have had to stand in the water, and it was the end of October and in Germany it's almost cold then. Though, perhaps I really should have the idea to lower, but maybe then the situation would have been already gone. My daughter doesn't tend to be quiet for a longer while, and my little devil of son must be observed at the same time, so bit of a challenge
    Thank you for your comment!
