    John, interesting image. I think it may be a stronger one though, if you were to eliminate most of the shadowed foreground (and maybe some of the sky). The angle of the bridge and the shadow striping definitely gives it visual interest.

    Almost exactly what I was thinking, although you could leave a bit of the shadowed foreground, just to lead us into the image from dark to light.

    I'm going to be controversial as I like the big sky in the first shot, although do agree losing the foreground shadow works better. The big sky and the photo ratio gives the people scale and fits the title better, but perhaps only to my way of thinking.

    John. I too, especially like the big sky with just a little bit of the shadow (1/4-1/3 which keeps the nice shadow on the left railing) in the foreground cropped off. I like how the patterns on the walkway lead my eye, and especially the beautiful light.
