I will grant you that it looks good with a clockwise turn but it looses the defying gravity feeling.

I like the original a lot more than the flipped one.
Who cares about the law of gravity? It simply looks more appealing to me, even if it's maybe not quite true to nature.
And I do love the colours!

Actually Kris the original is true to nature. The leaves were hanging onto the side of the stone wall, not the top. And I am pleased with the colours.

Very good Brian. Another example of how it helps to keep that harsh bright sunlight out of the way.

nice one Brian ! Beautiful colors. I also like the contrasting subjects, the light wispy leaves and the dense heavy rocks.

Good composition, Brian. Regarding the original post, the three leaves appear to be in various stages of decay from furthest to nearest. And their faster pace of decay is contrasted against the much slower erosion of the rock. Well seen.

The flipped version doesn't work for me because that sense of progressive decay is lost when the leaves are arranged sideways. Moreover, the plant in the background with the heart-shaped leaves appears to be growing upside down in the second one.

I know that there is a science to composition but one day I hope to at least get good at the art of composition. I agree that flipping doesn't work as well but it was suggested so i thought I would see how others flt.
