    Re: Osprey Hovering

I really like the lighting effect coming through the feathers on the wing in center of frame Great position on the bird, sharp, well exposed, and the BG is clean but still gives a sense of habitat. My only possible suggestion would be a bit more room in the frame above the bird. IMO wingtips closer to edge of frame work a little better than the bird's body.

Really an excellent shot. Nice job.

Beautiful shot, James even though he's a bit cramp at the top...

James...that is one very nice shot. Should you not have the space in the original image to avail yourself of the suggestions made...PM me.

James, great shot. For me I am not at all bothered by the bird's closeness to the top of the frame: to me it gives the image 'drama,' as though the bird has just flown into the image on its way down to grab its prey.

I would like to hear the "history" beside the shot. The "stalk", the "hunt" to the shot =) ...
Also, I would like to do some wildlife shot but my only tele-lens is a nikkor 55-300mm f4.5-5.6, is it enough? Of course I don't pretend to do a "close-up" shots like yours ...

That is simply a great shot.

It looks like some of the illumination was reflection from below with the soft focus background complementing the coloring of the bird. Absolutely no blow out on the whites; which often difficult with direct sunlight.
