Hi John,do you have a coloured version?Coloured one might be better,in B&W the woman is mixed up with the background and foreground, she doesn't stand out.
Just like any Asian born and raised, they carry umbrellas when the sun is shining... I think the first image needs a little bit of separation from the background. The second one is also almost blending with the background...???
The woman is more noticeable in the coloured one because her colours are different from green and I think it is a better photo. But she still blends with the BG.I have no idea what can be done in such a situation, experts might help better
Prefer your crop John and IMHO it needs the warmth of the colour version to do it justice. Nice image.
THe crop works better for me also.
I think this is a clever capture, John. Concealing her lower half below the rise leaves me wondering whether she is sitting down or strolling up an incline. The tighter crop is better, but I don't see a lot of difference between the colour and mono. I do think it was considerate of the subject to carry her own diffuser with her...
Colour for me John,nice image
The crop is much better and, if it were mine, most of the dazzling, out-of-focus foreground would be cropped away.
A better separation of subject from surroundings might be achieved, by raising the tones and clarity of the former, and reducing the intensity of the latter - making the surroundings more subdued by decreasing their saturation, contrast and brightness.
E.g.
Cheers.
