All nice shots, Jon, but I like #4 the best. First because the bird is entering the frame, and secondly for the color contrast between the bird and the background. Some might suggest you crop the top edge out to eliminate the skyline in the distant background, but it doesn't bother me.

All nice. I think I like the first one best because the heron seems to have the best separation from the background, especially around the head. Herons are difficult to shoot without their heads looking weird but you did a good job. The first and third ones also seem to have the best light. On #1 & #3 I think I would crop out the rocks in the upper left. I'm one of those that would also crop out the top part on #4, but if you decide not to, I think it needs a slight tilt to level the horizon.

Those are nice shots and you nailed the exposure which can be tricky with GBH's.
They appear to have been shot in the same series but I'm seeing a subtle change in PP???

William, you are correct about these being shot in series, although not in the order they were posted. PP was basically the same (crop and sharpen) for all 4, the difference being the aperture settings changed on 3 of the 4 shots. Not really sure why I did that but I know I did for some reason...I was shooting aperture priority
