    My first bird photographed

... in a half decent way xD . The longest focal lenght I own is a 200mm (on crop sensor), so I usally can't get close enough to photograph small birds. Could you tell me what you find to be wrong/right in this picture? Thanks!

Stefano, for one of your first, it's not to shabby...your cluttered environment though, makes for a messy picture. None of us here have the skillset to train their wildlife in posing techniques, so we tend to rely on being patient and waiting on the critter to find a better scene. It's called "working the scene/subject".

Hi. Very nice shot. I'd try to photoshop out the grass sticking out of its beak and try to get rid of the bright purple spot. They both distract from the bird.

Agreed - good shot with good sharpness and lighting.

It is pretty darn good for a first shot! I have to say I agree with Dem. I would try to clone out the distracting purple spot and the grass in the beak.
